Woman accused of stabbing cousin during family disturbance in southeast Houston, HPD says

Police said officers were called to a home on Flamingo Drive on Friday night; the man was hospitalized in stable condition and a woman was detained and charged

HOUSTON – Houston police said a family disturbance call at a home in the 6900 block of Flamingo Drive led to a stabbing Friday night.

According to the Houston Police Department, Southeast Patrol officers were first called to the location around 8 p.m. When officers arrived, police said there had been no criminal actions at that time, so the involved parties were separated while officers remained on scene.

Police said another disturbance broke out around 9:45 p.m. During the incident, a woman ran out of the home screaming, followed by a man who also ran outside. Investigators said the woman stabbed the man in the back.

The victim, a man in his 30s, was taken to a local hospital in stable condition, police said. The suspect, a woman in her 30s, was detained at the scene. HPD said a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon was accepted against her.

Police believe the suspect and victim are cousins.
