A Houston mother of three is turning her personal journey into purpose, bringing women together while giving back to those who need it most.

Keyana Darling hosted “Petals & Purpose,” an intimate community event designed to uplift women, highlight local businesses, and support mothers navigating everyday life.

Held at Serene Events, the gathering welcomed about 35 women for an afternoon focused on connection, conversation, and empowerment. The space, styled by Semorah Events, set the tone for what Darling envisioned as more than just a meetup, but a safe space for women to feel seen and supported.

The event also drew a mix of local creators and guests, including Morgan Wade, Jennifer Hardwick, and Jasymyne Lloyd, who helped spark conversations around storytelling, business, and community.

But at the heart of the event was giving back.

Attendees worked together to assemble 24 self-care bags for Mission of Yahweh, a shelter that supports women and children experiencing homelessness. Each bag was filled with essentials meant to provide comfort, dignity, and a reminder that someone cares.

Guests also heard directly from the shelter’s leadership about its impact in the Houston area and how the community can continue to help.

Houston City Controller Chris Hollins praised the effort, calling it a reflection of the strength and resilience of mothers across the city.

The event also featured a candid panel on motherhood, where women opened up about balancing responsibilities, navigating different seasons of life, and the reality of needing a strong support system.

For many in the room, that conversation hit home.

For Darling, this is just the beginning.

She says “Petals & Purpose” is part of a bigger vision, to create more spaces that pour into women, amplify small businesses, and support single moms across Houston.

And if this event is any indication, she’s already building something that’s making an impact, one connection at a time.
