Man accused of killing missing pregnant woman identified as father of her unborn child

Murder charge filed against suspect in death of pregnant Houston woman Ashanti Allen

HOUSTON – The man presumed to be the father of the missing woman, who was found dead at a park on Chimney Rock on Thursday, is now wanted for her murder.

Kevin Faux, 24, has since been charged with murder in connection with the death of 23-year-old Ashanti Allen.

Allen was found dead in a park on Thursday, April 16, after being reported missing on April 10.

Allen’s family said she was last seen leaving her apartment on April 8, shortly after her mother received a text message saying she was leaving and never coming back.

The mother, Trisa Gaines Colbert, told officers the message was concerning, which prompted her to check her daughter’s apartment. Colbert said when she got to the apartment, she did not see her daughter’s vehicle, but noticed all her things, including items for her unborn child, were still at the apartment.

Texas EquuSearch began searching for Allen, but came up empty until they were able to ping her phone at a local park.

Allen’s cellphone was ultimately able to give police her last location, which was a park located on Chimney Rock Road.

Allen was found dead at the park on Thursday at 9 a.m.

Hours later, Faux was charged.

According to court documents, in September 2025, Faux had been arrested and charged with assault on a family member, and the victim was listed as Allen. On February 19, 2026, he was sentenced to 143 days in jail.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Kevin Faux, or in this case, is urged to contact HPD Homicide at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
