According to the Houston Police Department, the officers were responding to a priority call with lights and sirens activated when their patrol unit was hit by another vehicle in the intersection.

The impact caused the patrol vehicle to roll over and land on top of another car, officials said.

Emergency crews with the Houston Fire Department arrived to find two officers inside the overturned patrol vehicle. Both were transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and are reported to be in stable condition.

The drivers of the other two vehicles involved were not injured.

It remains unclear who was at fault in the crash. Authorities have not released additional details as the investigation continues.
