MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas – A military veteran has been charged in a fatal shooting after two women were found dead inside a home in Montgomery County on Monday, according to law enforcement.

Stanley Earl Hardin, 57, has been charged with capital murder in the shooting deaths of his estranged wife, who was in her 50s, and her mother, who was in her 80s.

The shooting happened at 300 Shoreview Drive around 2 p.m., just east of Conroe.

The sheriff’s office says the suspect rammed a vehicle into the home before shooting the two women inside.

The suspect fled the scene after the shooting, but deputies were able to locate him in 12000 block of Ivy Lane in Conroe and take him into custody.

Law enforcement continues to investigate and asks that the public avoid Shoreview Drive as they continue to be at the scene.
