Pedestrian dies after hit-and-run in NW Harris County, deputies search for suspect

Deputies seek public’s help to locate suspect vehicle

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Authorities are looking for a suspect, or suspects, involved in a fatal hit-and-run that killed a pedestrian and injured another.

The crash happened on Sunday evening and sent two pedestrians to the hospital. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office identified the victims as Michael Shannon and Mack Quinn. Both were walking in the 13000 block of Jones Road in northwest Harris County when they were struck by a silver Toyota Rav4, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies said the driver failed to stop and render aid.

Both pedestrians were transported to a local hospital, but on Wednesday, deputies said Shannon died from his injuries. They said Quinn is in stable condition.

Authorities are asking the public for help in identifying the location of the suspect vehicle or its driver.
