A former Brazos County detention officer has been arrested after investigators say she attempted to delete electronic messages during an investigation into an alleged inappropriate relationship with an inmate.

Officials say the investigation began after allegations surfaced about a possible inappropriate relationship between the employee and an inmate, as well as concerns about the potential introduction of prohibited substances into the correctional facility.

During the investigation, authorities allege the former officer attempted to delete electronic messages in an effort to conceal communication records.

The former employee, identified as Erin Boff, had been employed since November 4, 2024. She has been charged with tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.

County officials say misconduct of this nature will not be tolerated and that allegations are thoroughly investigated when they arise.
