Man fatally shot outside W. Houston bar

HOUSTON – Houston police say a man was shot and killed outside a bar in the Briar Forest area of the city Friday evening.

The shooting happened in the 1900 block of S. Kirkwood Road.

Authorities say the man was standing outside the bar when two or three suspects approached him. Some sort of interaction occurred between the victim and the suspects and the victim was shot.

The suspects fled the scene in a burgundy-colored sedan.

It is unclear whether the shooting was the result of a fight or a robbery.
