HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division responded, which is standard, after the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office initially made the scene.

No other vehicles were involved, HPD said.

The department didn’t release any additional information about what may have led to the crash.

On Monday, Houston Police Officers’ Union President Douglas Griffith released the following statement:

“Officer McCreary was a great officer and was dedicated to helping the community. He will be greatly missed.”
