HOUSTON – Two suspects already facing capital murder charges for the fatal shooting of a taco truck operator last December are now facing federal charges.
Court records indicate Angel Saldivar-James and Oscar Armando Roland Menjevar are federally charged with conspiracy to interfere with commerce by robbery, interference with commerce by robbery, using, carrying, brandishing, discharging, and possessing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence resulting in death, and using, carrying, brandishing, discharging, and possessing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence.

In addition, Angel Saldivar-James is accused of possessing a firearm while unlawfully in the United States.
The two are accused of shooting and killing Yaddua Barraza-Hernandez, 36, on Dec. 4, 2025.
Barraza-Hernandez was working at a taco truck on West Dyna Drive when two suspects, alleged to be Saldivar-James and Menjevar, approached the business. One of the suspects allegedly fired shots into the taco truck while the other grabbed cash. Both fled on foot after the shooting.
Saldivar-James is currently in the Harris County Jail with bond denied. Menjevar is currently in the Harris County Jail with a $400,000 combined bond.
Both suspects have immigration holds.
