Puppy rescued by Houston SPCA after being found crying in abandoned trunk at Channelview-area park

Animal cruelty investigators are reviewing evidence after a puppy was found abandoned inside a trunk at Channelview park.

The puppy was discovered after a concerned citizen contacted authorities, reporting hearing crying coming from a wooden trunk.

When investigators arrived at the scene and opened the trunk, they found the nine-week-old German Shepherd puppy.

The HSPCA has not confirmed if the puppy was injured when it was discovered, but they did confirm it has received medical attention since being rescued.
