Ice stalls vehicles on Houston flyover ramps, 18-wheelers forced to reverse

Harris County Sheriff’s Office advises motorists to avoid driving in icy conditions

HOUSTON – Ice on the I-10 flyover ramps connecting to Grand Parkway is causing 18-wheelers to slide and reverse, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies are working to clear the scene and say more stalled vehicles are blocking the westbound overpass.

Harris County sheriff’s deputies have also shutdown the flyovers to the Grand Parkway at U.S. 290 in Cypress due to ice.

The Texas Department of Transportation is assisting authorities to assess the situation.

Officials say to avoid the area and do not drive on icy roads.
