Alief ISD
Due to freezing temperatures expected throughout the Houston area over the next few days, and for the safety and security of our students, staff, and families, the district was closed on Monday, January 26th.
They will continue to monitor the weather and make a determination on any additional closure days as soon as possible, and will share that information on their official Alief ISD communication channels.
Alvin ISD
For the safety of students and staff, all Alvin ISD campuses and offices was closed on Monday, January 26 due to inclement weather predictions and travel concerns. Also, all activities scheduled after 5:00 pm on Saturday have been canceled/rescheduled.
Anahuac ISD
Campuses and district offices was on Monday, Jan. 26, due to the potential for hazardous travel conditions during the early morning hours.
The district will closely monitor weather developments throughout the weekend and will provide an update on school operations for Tuesday, Jan. 27, once there is a clearer understanding of the storm’s impact on the area.
Angleton ISD
Due to the continued forecast of potential winter weather and possible unsafe travel conditions for our students and staff, all Angleton ISD schools was closed on Monday, January 26.

Dayton ISD
Dayton Independent School District was closed on Monday, January 26, 2026, due to inclement weather and unsafe travel conditions. All after-school activities scheduled for the past weekend and Monday were also canceled.
Deer Park ISD
Due to expected hazardous weather conditions, school was canceled for all Deer Park ISD students for Monday, Jan. 26. All after-school activities were also canceled.
Employees should not report for duty Monday unless they are contacted by their supervisor.
The district decision was based on the forecast models and recommendations from weather experts, who have strong confidence in the forecast. The District has also participated in a conference call with neighboring school districts, which are in agreement about canceling school Monday.
The district expect to participate in another conference call with weather experts on Sunday afternoon, at which time we will share another update with parents and the community.
Devers ISD
Due to the predicted weather conditions, school was canceled for Monday at Devers ISD.
Dickinson ISD
Out of an abundance of caution, Dickinson ISD was closed on Monday, January 26, due to the potential for severe weather impacts in our area.
East Bernard ISD
EBISD was closed on Monday, January 26th, due to weather conditions. Classes should resume as normal on Tuesday, January 27th.

East Chambers ISD
East Chambers told families that student and staff safety is a top priority and with the probability of inclement weather and hazardous road conditions, school was cancel for Monday, January 26th.
The district said know that we carefully consider many factors before making any changes to the school schedule as we understand changes can create challenges for our families and they will monitor the weather in the event they need to schedule a late start or cancel school for Tuesday, January 27th.

Fort Bend ISD
Update: Fort Bend Independent School District (FBISD) will reopen all schools and district offices tomorrow, Tuesday, January 27, 2026. All classes, after-school activities, UIL and athletic events, and Extended Learning programs will take place at their regularly scheduled times. As students and staff return, FBISD reminds families and employees that roadways, parking lots, and sidewalks may still contain isolated pockets of ice. The district urges everyone to use extra care and caution when driving, walking, or riding bicycles to and from school. Goose Creek CISD
Goose Creek CISD was closed on Monday, Jan. 26, due to the anticipated hard freeze and icy conditions expected to impact travel. All school and after-school activities on that day were canceled.

Katy ISD
Update: KATY ISD will be open Tuesday, Jan. 27 and resume regular schedule.
Please be advised that all Katy ISD campuses and school facilities was closed on Monday, Jan. 26 due to anticipated hazardous weather conditions across the area. Program sponsors, coaches and directors communicated directly with their students and athletes regarding schedule changes to before- and after-school activities. Due to forecasted inclement weather conditions, Navasota ISD canceled all classes on Monday, January 26 for the safety of all our students and staff. Classes are expected to resume Tuesday, January 27.
Needville ISD
Needville ISD was closed Monday. Jan. 26, due to predicted inclement weather, and there will be no out-of-district travel for extracurricular activities.
Needville players was notified if the practice was rescheduled.
Superintendent Dr. Paul Drake emphasized if the practice is held, any student who is unable to attend will not have the absence held against him or her.
“Safety of our students is our top priority,” Drake said. “We hope everyone can stay warm and safe throughout the cold temperatures.”
New Caney ISD
Due to anticipated severe winter weather and potentially hazardous road conditions, New Caney ISD and all district schools was be closed on Monday, Jan. 26. All extracurricular activities, athletic events, and practices scheduled for Monday were postponed.
The district will continue to closely monitor weather conditions throughout the past weekend. An update regarding plans for Tuesday, Jan. 27, is expecting to be shared no later than Monday afternoon. New Waverly ISD
New Waverly ISD was closed Monday due to weather. Their plan was to monitor over the past weekend but due to the dangers already seen north of our area, we feel it is better to let everyone know today. We plan to be back Tuesday as per normal. We will have to make up missed time, likely on one of our Fridays but we will provide information in plenty of preparation time when that occurs. Please stay safe during this event.
Pasadena ISD
Attention Pasadena ISD Families, due to the potential for dangerous weather conditions, Pasadena ISD was closed on Monday, January 26th, 2026.

Spring ISD
Due to hazardous winter weather conditions, all Spring ISD schools and district offices was closed on Monday, Jan. 26.
The district made this decision based on the potential for freezing rain and icy conditions in the area. They were especially concerned about driving conditions that could impact the ability of our students and staff to safely get to school in the morning.
All Spring ISD events and activities were canceled on Saturday, Jan. 24, and Sunday, Jan. 25, including athletics, performances, and extracurricular activities.

Based on guidance this morning from local authorities in anticipation of severe winter weather impacting the Greater Houston area, all SBISD schools and offices was closed on Monday, Jan. 26, 2026.
All athletics and after school programs and activities also were canceled for Monday. Guidance affirmed it is too soon to make a decision about reopening on Tuesday.

Stafford Municipal School District
Update: Stafford Municipal School District will be open Tuesday, Jan. 27.
SMSD were maintain regularly scheduled activities on Saturday, January 24. There was no activities or classes on Sunday, January 25, or Monday, January 26.

Sweeny ISD
After closely monitoring the winter weather system and following guidance from meteorologists and local weather experts, Sweeny ISD has made the decision to cancel school on Monday, January 26, due to the expected frigid weather conditions.
While weather systems can be unpredictable, we wanted to provide our families with as much advance notice as possible. Current forecasts indicate that this weather system is expected to impact our area Sunday and Monday.
At this time, athletic events and practices scheduled for Saturday will continue as planned. All teams will conclude events and return to Sweeny by 4:00 pm on Saturday.

Update: Tarkington ISD schools will be closed on Tuesday, January 27. No classes or after school activities will be held. This decision was made due to a burst pipe causing a major water leak, which has disrupted water service to several district facilities. Our team has shut off the water in those areas as well as called in reinforcements and is actively assessing the situation while working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. The safety and well being of our students and staff remains our highest priority. We appreciate your patience, flexibility, and understanding as we make sure every building is prepared to receive students and staff. Thank you to our families as we work through this unexpected situation. We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available through our usual communication channels. At noon today, parents and staff were notified that due to inclement weather conditions, Tarkington ISD schools was closed on Monday, Jan. 26. The district was closely monitoring an approaching cold front expected this past weekend that brought freezing temperatures and icy conditions. To ensure safety, all weekend athletic events was moved to Friday, with coaches providing details. All other weekend district events were postponed. The Rodeo Art Show, originally set for Saturday morning, is rescheduled to Saturday, February 7, from 9 AM to Noon at the Tomball Event Center. Participants will receive updates from their co-curricular sponsors.
Van Vleck ISD
Due to the inclement weather predicted for the past weekend and Monday, all Van Vleck ISD campuses and facilities was closed on Monday, January 26, 2026. Northland Christian School
Due to predicted winter precipitation in their area and out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our students, families, and staff, Northland Christian School was closed on Monday, January 26. All classes, activities, and extracurricular events were canceled and rescheduled.
They plan to resume normal classes and activities on Tuesday, January 27.
Presbyterian School
In light of the current Winter Storm Warning, Presbyterian School was closed, and all school-related classes, events, and activities were canceled on Monday, January 26, 2026.
Pro-Vision Academy
Dear Students and Parents,

Rhodes School for the Performing Arts
Due to the anticipated hazardous weather and travel conditions related to Winter Storm Fern, RSPA’S campus and administrative offices was closed on Monday, January 26, 2026. Campus and office operations for Tuesday, January 27th, will be decided on Monday.
RMA Public Schools
Due to projected weather conditions, RMA Public School Houston and RMA Public School Pasadena (Richard Milburn Academy Houston and Richard Milburn Academy Pasadena) was closed on Monday, January 26, 2026.

YES Prep Public Schools
Due to inclement weather conditions, all YES Prep schools was closed on Monday, Jan. 26. All Saturday and Sunday activities this weekend were canceled as well.

Brazosport College
Closed from 5 p.m. on Jan. 24-26 due to anticipated winter weather and hazardous road conditions. All campus operations and classes on Monday were canceled. The college will monitor conditions and provide updates via its website and social media.
College of the Mainland
In anticipation of severe winter weather, College of the Mainland was officially closed on Monday, Jan. 26. All classes and all college operations at all COM locations are canceled at this time.

Galveston College
Update: Galveston College will reopen and resume normal operations tomorrow, Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026, with all classes meeting as scheduled. The reopening on Jan. 27 includes both the GC main campus, located at 4015 Avenue Q, and the GC Applied Technology Center, located at 7626 Broadway Street, in Galveston. The GC Emergency Management Operations Team will continue to monitor the weather.

Lone Star College System
Because of possible freezing weather, all Lone Star College System properties was closed, and classes were canceled on Monday, January 26, 2026. All LSCS properties was locked down. LSCS expects to reopen for normal hours and resume classes on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. If anything changes, a follow-up email and text will be sent to all students and employees.

Sam Houston State University
All Sam Houston State University locations was closed through Monday, January 26 due to icy conditions in the region. All classes were canceled. COM students should refer to their emails for information.

San Jacinto College
Due to the inclement weather, San Jacinto College was closing at 10 p.m. on Saturday, January 24. This meant no classes or activities took place on Sunday, and all classes (day and evening), business operations and extracurricular activities were canceled on Monday, January 26 as well.
A decision about Tuesday will be made and communicated on Monday evening.
South Texas College of Law Houston
South Texas College of Law Houston was remote only on Monday due to the winter storm.
Texas Southern University
In anticipation of severe weather, Texas Southern University operated remotely on Monday, January 26, 2026.
Texas State Technical College-Fort Bend
Texas State Technical College’s Fort Bend County campus was closed on Jan. 26, due to the anticipated winter weather. Normal operations will resume on Jan. 27. Online classes will continue as scheduled. Employees will work remotely.
Texas Women’s University
Due to winter weather, TWU Houston suspend operations and classes on Saturday, Jan. 24 and Sunday, Jan. 25.
Future closures will be communicated as needed as forecasts are updated.
University of Houston
The University of Houston, including campuses in Sugar Land and Katy, was closed Sunday, Jan. 25 – Monday, Jan. 26 due to expected hazardous winter weather conditions.
University of Houston-Downtown
All University of Houston-Downtown campuses, including UHD NW, Cy-Fair, and Kingwood, was closed beginning at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 24, through Monday, Jan. 26.
UHD said they will notify the campus community no later than 3 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 26, regarding classes and normal operations resuming on Tuesday, Jan. 27.
University of Houston-Clear Lake
Update: The University of Houston–Clear Lake, including the Pearland and Texas Medical Center locations, will reopen for normal operations on Tuesday, Jan. 27.
All UHCL locations were closed Sunday, Jan. 25, and Monday, Jan. 26, due to adverse weather conditions. All classes, activities, and business operations scheduled for these dates were canceled.
This included all campus events, meetings, and routine business functions as well as the Alfred R. Neumann Library and the Recreation and Wellness Center. Please stay safe and monitor your email, UHCL social media and uhcl.edu, for updates.
UTHealth Houston
UTHealth Houston shifted to remote learning for most of Monday, Jan. 26.
UT Physicians, the medical clinical practice of UTHealth Houston, delayed the opening of clinics on Monday, Jan. 26, until 12 p.m. to allow for safer traveling conditions. Patients will be notified directly if they need to reschedule their appointment. Virtual appointments will continue as scheduled.
All of the dental clinics was closed on Monday, Jan. 26. Scheduled patients will be notified directly about rescheduling their appointment.
Wharton County Junior College
