HOUSTON – Homicide detectives with the Houston Police Department are investigating after skeletal remains were found in a vacant lot off the Sam Houston Tollway.
The lot is located at 4477 W. Sam Houston Parkway North.
A lawn crew that was working at the property discovered the remains in a brushy area.
It is unclear how long the remains have been there or how the person died. Shoes and other articles of clothing were found on and near the remains.
The Harris County Institute of Forensic Science will conduct an autopsy.
