Crews respond to 2-alarm warehouse fire in Southwest Houston

HFD says Hazmat units called after batteries discovered in warehouse; no injuries or fatalities

HOUSTON – Crews responded to a 2-alarm warehouse fire in Southwest Houston on Saturday morning.

The Houston Fire Department was dispatched to the fire at 5710 Savoy Road at 6:23 a.m. A second alarm was requested at 7 a.m.

Officials said a box truck near the building also caught fire.

HFD Hazmat units were called to the scene after batteries were discovered at the warehouse. Arson investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.

Officials said there were no injuries or fatalities.
