HOUSTON – Baytown Police executed two search warrants at separate properties on Wednesday night in connection with the disappearance of Kalie Goodwin, a 29-year-old woman who has been missing since late April 2024.
Authorities say the searches were prompted by a tip and conducted with Texas EquuSearch, but no new information has been released on Goodwin’s whereabouts.
Ella Richardson-Ward, whose family owns one of the properties searched, described the scene as surreal.
“It was real chilling because it’s pretty sad. I have a daughter myself, and God forbid this happened to her,” she said.
Richardson-Ward said police and Texas EquuSearch arrived with large digging equipment and several vehicles, moving fences and hand-digging portions of the yard.
A search warrant reviewed by KPRC 2 shows that detectives searched at least one home looking for clues involving murder, kidnapping or tampering with evidence.
“At this time, investigators did not locate any obvious human remains during the execution of the search warrants,” a Baytown Police Department spokesperson wrote to KPRC 2. “Items were collected for laboratory analysis as part of standard investigative procedures. This case remains under investigation, and any confirmed information will be released when appropriate.”
Goodwin went missing in 2024 after getting into a vehicle at a Baytown apartment complex.
According to court and police records previously obtained in 2024, her mother, Kaci Richardson, received a call the next day from two men demanding $600 while Goodwin was heard screaming in the background.
Richardson recalls hearing her daughter say things like “Momma, my face is deformed.”
Authorities say evidence suggests Quan Flowers, 39, a man already in the Harris County Jail on murder charges, assaulted Goodwin and transported her to an unknown location.
Flowers, known by the nickname “Country,” has been described by a witness as preying on younger women and frequenting motels in the area.
Baytown Police say the investigation is ongoing and urge anyone with information about Goodwin’s whereabouts to contact Baytown Crime Stoppers.
