RICHMOND, Texas – Fort Bend County authorities are asking the public for help in identifying a suspect in a pair of arson attacks targeting a deputy’s home in 2019. Surveillance footage from the incidents has been released, and a $5,000 reward is now being offered for tips leading to an arrest.
The attacks occurred in December 2019, when Molotov cocktails were used in two separate fires at a Fort Bend deputy’s home. The first fire happened on Dec. 23, when incendiary devices were thrown at the front of the house. The second attack occurred days later, around 3 a.m., when similar devices were used to set a vehicle in the driveway ablaze. No one was injured in either incident.

Authorities are searching for a dark-colored F-250 with a silver construction rack that was seen at the scene. Surveillance video of the second incident has been released to the public in hopes of generating new leads.
Former Sheriff Troy Nehls said the attacks appear to have been targeted. The deputy, a longtime investigator who has worked on homicide and robbery cases, and his family have received special protection.

Neighbors described the attacks as alarming and frightening.
“It’s heartbreaking. Somebody’s out to get him,” said Laura Wall, a friend and neighbor. “They’re shaken, but they’re strong and not too worried about it.”
