Man rescued after being stuck in sewer for hours in NW Houston

HOUSTON, Texas – A man was rescued after being stuck in a sewer for about one to two hours, according to the the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office.

Deputies responded to a welfare check in the 16400 block of N. Mist Drive after a nearby neighbor reported hearing a man screaming for help.

On Monday, KPRC2’s Re’Chelle Turner spoke to Sgt. Medena who confirmed that the man had only been stuck in the sewer for one to two hours.

Sgt. Medena said the man removed the sewer cover and may have been experiencing a medical episode.

First responders were able to rescue the man, who was then transported to the hospital for treatment.

Officials said the man is going to be “OK”.
