A 53-year-old Tomball man has been sentenced to 60 months in federal prison for possession of child sexual abuse material, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Prosecutors say Sean M. Doran was identified in July 2020 after investigators found an online user sharing multiple images and videos of child sexual abuse in a public Kik chat room.

Authorities later searched his home and seized devices that contained dozens of illegal images and videos involving children, some younger than 3.
Doran pleaded guilty and was later sentenced to five years in prison and ordered to pay $55,000 in restitution. Doran must also serve 10 years of supervised release with restrictions on contact with children and internet use, and he will be required to register as a sex offender for life.
