Deputies bust alleged rooster fighting ring in Crosby

Harris County Sheriff’s Office says around 300 live roosters found, around 50 dead

CROSBY, Texas – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to an alleged animal fighting ring in Crosby on Saturday night where deputies found multiple dead roosters.

HCSO Sgt. Clinton Nash said a Good Samaritan tipped off authorities around 2:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

He said they found approximately 300 live roosters caged up and around 50 dead at a residence on Danek Road near Fairview Drive.

Deputies said they could hear the roosters when they arrived. Several people tried to flee but were detained.

The sheriff’s office said the property owners and spectators could all face serious charges.
