HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Authorities are investigating after they said a man, who appeared to have been beaten, was found dead in east Harris County.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to the scene around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening near Freeport and Renault Streets.

At the scene, HCSO Sgt. Greg Pinkins said responding deputies found the man unresponsive and began lifesaving measures until medical personnel could arrive, but he did not survive.
He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
According to preliminary findings, deputies said the man had been involved in an earlier fight with another man who returned to the location. They did not know what the fight was about and did not find any apparent stab or gunshot wounds on the victim.
Video shows a man being placed in handcuffs and taken into custody.
This is an active investigation.
