A student at a high school in Baytown was flown to a hospital after being stabbed with scissors during a fight inside a classroom.
The Baytown Police Department first confirmed it responded to a report of a stabbing at a high school in the city earlier Wednesday.

The stabbing was reported at around 10:42 a.m.
KPRC 2 learned from other sources that the fight occurred inside a classroom at Ross S. Sterling High School in Baytown. Two male students were involved, and one stabbed the other with a pair of scissors.
Sterling was placed on a temporary hold Wednesday following the fight, according to the district.
The parents of both students were notified. The hold has since been lifted, and there is no current threat to students or staff on campus, the district said.
The district later confirmed the student was flown to a hospital.
Weather complications prevented Life Flight from landing at the school, Baytown Fire Department confirmed. The student was taken by ambulance to Baytown Airport and flown from there.
The student is currently listed in critical condition.
An updated statement on the incident from Goose Creek CISD is expected shortly.
GOOSE CREEK CISD Police Department released the following statement:
“Sterling was placed on a hold following a fight on campus involving two students. One student required medical attention. The parents of both students have been notified, and the situation was addressed promptly. The hold has been lifted, and there is no current threat to students and staff on campus.”
