Missouri City police arrest suspect after smash-and-grab burglary, chase

Missouri City police arrested one suspect early Tuesday morning after a smash-and-grab burglary triggered a foot chase along the highway.

At about 2:49 a.m. Tuesday, Missouri City Police Department officers responded to a commercial alarm in the 500 block of U.S. 90.

Upon arrival, they saw two men running out of a business through a shattered glass door. Both of them fled west on U.S. 90A, prompting officers to set up a perimeter and begin a search.

Police found one suspect, identified as Jaydyn Freeman, near Missouri City Fire Department Station No. 2.

Freeman was arrested and charged with burglary of a commercial building, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and evading on foot.

The second suspect remains at large. Missouri City police are asking anyone with information or who noticed suspicious activity in the area to call 281-403-8700.
