2 arrested in Walmart shooting that left man dead

MISSOURI CITY, Texas – Editor’s note: On Nov. 14, KPRC 2 learned one of the two individuals detained on Oct. 28 is no longer considered a suspect in the murder and has been released. Four teens are now in custody in connection to the shooting.

Missouri City police have arrested two suspects in connection with a fatal shooting at a Walmart parking lot on Monday evening.

The incident happened around 6:22 p.m. at the Walmart on 5501 Highway 6. Officers found a man who had been shot and was unresponsive.

He was treated at the scene before being transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police say there was a small child in the vehicle with the victim at the time of the shooting. The child was unharmed.

Authorities say the shooting occurred in the back part of the parking lot away from the store.

Officers are working to notify the family of the victim and reunite the child with other family members.
