Stuck train back working after hours-long traffic backup in Galleria area
A Union Pacific train has been stalled for hours on the tracks, causing heavy traffic between the Southwest Freeway and San Felipe Street on Friday afternoon. (Copyright 2025 by KPRC Click2Houston - All rights reserved.)
HOUSTON – A Union Pacific train was stalled for hours on the tracks, which caused heavy traffic between the Southwest Freeway and San Felipe Street on Friday afternoon. The tracks are just east of the 610 west loop.
Union Pacific said its train was experiencing mechanical issues.
Crews responded and are on site, worked to repair the train, so it can be moved as quickly as possible.
The train was finally up and running around 3 p.m., Friday.
