Multiple victims identified, man arrested after child sex abuse investigation in Galveston County

FRIENDSWOOD, Texas – The Friendswood Police Department is urging anyone with any information to come forward after an arrest was made in a child sex abuse investigation.
Juan Mata Sr., 49, of South Houston, was arrested by officers on Aug. 28 for a Galveston County warrant for continuous sexual abuse of young children. His bond was set at $350,000.
While details on the case are minimal, Friendswood Police said the arrest comes after a lengthy investigation where multiple victims were identified.
Investigators believe there may be more victims and are asking anyone with any additional information to contact them at 281-996-3300.
