The decision stems from a history of struggle in his family. Several years ago, the family lost their property, leaving them without stable housing at times.
âIt was hard growing up without a home,â Golden said. âBut I feel like God put us through that for a reason. Thatâs what keeps me going as a man.â
When real estate firm Remax Fine Properties heard Goldenâs story, they stepped in to help make the dream a reality. The original family home was beyond repair, prompting a search for a new property that would meet his grandmotherâs needs.
Golden was determined to find a safe, comfortable place in a good neighborhoodâand to make it a complete surprise.
Working closely with Remax, Golden toured properties until he found the perfect home, complete with a kitchen island and walk-in closet, features his grandmother had always wanted.
On the big day, Golden presented her with the keys in an emotional reveal that left her overjoyed.
âI love you so much,â she told him through tears as she explored her new home. âI love you too,â Golden replied.
Golden said the moment may even surpass the thrill of being drafted.
âItâs a big milestone for me,â he said. âSomething my mom and grandma always taught me was to always give back to my people.â
To make the gift even more meaningful, Remax surprised Goldenâs grandmother with an illustration of the old family home, ensuring she could hold onto a piece of her past while embracing her new house.
