Spay-neuter events helps prevent unwanted litters in Brazoria County

Pet owners in Brazoria County had the chance to get their dogs and cats spayed or neutered at a reduced cost thanks to Jenni’s Rescue Ranch and partnering organizations during a recent event in Alvin.

Jenni’s Rescue Ranch, an Alvin-based animal rescue, is continuing its mission to prevent unwanted litters. The nonprofit once again hosted a low-cost spay-neuter event for owned pets in Brazoria County this past weekend. For just $20, pet owners can sign their dog or cat up to be spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

Jenni Hendricks, founder and Executive Director of Jenni’s Rescue Ranch, says the need for these services is massive throughout Brazoria County. KPRC 2’s Lisa Hernandez was there for last Saturday’s event, which had help from nonprofits including Laurel’s House and Petco Love. Angleton Animal Services was also on hand to make this possible.

There is another spay-neuter event happening in Manvel on Saturday, September 6th. Follow the Get Stitched Brazoria County Facebook page here for alerts on when signups are available.
