Feeder road closed after fire breaks out at Spring junkyard

A fire broke out at a junkyard in the Spring area off of the North Freeway, causing the nearby feeder road to be temporarily closed.

The incident happened in the 21000 block of the North Freeway on I-45.

Heavy smoke and other safety concerns in the area have led officials to close the northbound feeder road at Spring Cypress. There is a large presence of emergency vehicles near the scene.

Our Sky 2 Chopper was over the scene of the fire and captured a large area covered in smoke destroyed by the flames. First responders are currently dousing the impacted area with water.
