Your KPRC 2 Weather Team is tracking a system expected to bring storms into the area, starting with light showers before building in strength toward the afternoon.

Showers are likely to become more intense by early afternoon, with the possibility of heavier storms developing between 2 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. Some of these cells could produce a quick inch to an inch and a half of rain. For those commuting or out and about during the late afternoon, there is a risk of minor flooding on roadway feeders, especially between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.

The region north of Houston, including the hill country and areas around Round Rock, may see the heaviest rainfall. While Monday’s storms aren’t expected to reach the intensity of recent deadly flooding events, caution is advised as downpours move through.
