HOUSTON – An undercover sting has landed a Texas Army National Guard officer behind bars after the investigation showed him trying to meet up with a detective he thought was a 15-year-old girl.
According to Harris Co. Precinct 1 Constable Alan Rosen, Jonathan Grant Beyleveld, 42, was arrested near his Richmond home Thursday morning.

Beyleveld, the constable said, is a lieutenant with the Texas National Guard, a licensed private investigator for the State of Texas, and a security guard who has also worked at car dealerships in the Houston area.

Beyleveld is accused of engaging in sexually explicit online conversations via a social media app. He sent and requested sexually explicit photos as he tried to arrange a meeting with the undercover detective to have sex and drink alcohol, according to records. He repeatedly told the undercover detective that he wanted to meet on the first day of her summer vacation, according to the records. Beyleveld is charged with online solicitation of a minor, a third-degree felony that carries a penalty of up to ten years in prison. Detectives ask anyone who has information about the defendant and his sexual interactions with minors to contact the Harris County Constable Precinct One Internet Crimes Against Children Unit at 713-222-4929. He is also accused of repeatedly telling the undercover officer that he wanted to meet her on the first day of her summer vacation.

Beyleveld is charged with third-degree felony charges for online solicitation of a minor, and officials are asking anyone who has information on him that can assist with their investigation to call their Internet Crimes Against Children Unit at 713-222-4929.
