Pedestrian hit in HOV lane on I-45 N Gulf Freeway, METRO PD investigating

METRO police are investigating after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle in the HOV lane on I-45 Northbound early Friday morning.

The incident happened around 5:45 a.m. near Almeda Genoa Road. METRO officials confirmed the person was struck by a vehicle while in the HOV lane. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital, but their condition remains unknown.

It’s unclear why the person was in the HOV lane at the time of the crash.

METRO is handling the investigation since the agency oversees incidents in HOV lanes throughout the Houston area.
