Husband shot to death, wife detained after fight at Conroe home

CONROE, Texas – A fight between a married couple ended with one being detained and the other dead at a Conroe residence, according to the police department.

The shooting happened at 2:14 p.m. at a home located in the 2000 block of Piney Balsam Way.

Police said officers arrived at the scene and detained a woman, 37, outside of the residence. Once inside the home, they found a 49-year-old man with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

During the investigation, it was discovered that the man and his wife were involved in a physical fight just prior to the shooting.

No charges have been filed at this time.

Investigators are still in the early stages of this active investigation and no further information will be released at this time.
