Firefighters are searching for a 20-year-old woman after a 3-alarm fire destroyed her Harris County home. The woman’s family says they believe she was at the home when the fire started, but firefighters have yet to locate her.
Technical rescue teams are working their way through the home piece by piece in search of the missing woman.
While it has not been confirmed that the 20-year-old woman is in the home, Harris County firefighters are doing their due diligence and clearing the home.

The two-story home did collapse, which means crews are sifting through two stories of debris with each room they search.
Northwest Fire Department Chief Wesley Cole says, “If someone is in there, we’ll find them.”
Cole says due to the heat, firefighters are being rotated out frequently.
The Harris County Fire Marshals Office is coordinating with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office to patrol the neighborhood just in case the 20-year-old woman escaped the home.

Investigators describe the missing 20-year-old woman as approximately 4′10″ and under 150 pounds.
Two firefighters were injured while battling this three-alarm fire. The firefighter injured by smoke inhalation was transported to the hospital and is in stable condition. The other fighterfighter suffered from a heat-related issue and was treated on the scene.
The cause of the fire has not been confirmed, but investigators say the high winds contributed to how fast the fire grew.
Two nearby homes received smoke and fire damage.
