Truck crashes into NW Houston gun store, leaves behind nearly $6K worth of damage

HOUSTON – Some burglars got more than they bargained for when they smashed into a gun store in northwest Houston, only to be shot at by the overnight security guard.

“He’s ready, I mean, the weapon stays on him 24/7,” said that

Before they could get away with anything, Abrego said his overnight security guard shot at the truck’s rear window just before they took off.

“When are y’all gonna learn you will be met with force, we have 24/7-armed security,” HTX Tactical said on their Instagram post. “As you can see the truck doesn’t have a back window no more and holes in it!”

In a text message with KPRC 2’s Ahmed Humble, Abrego noted that while he’s relieved the matter was resolved quickly, the burglars left behind about $6K worth of damage.

Abrego told KPRC 2’s Bill Barajas, though, that even if the burglars had successfully gotten inside, they would not have found any weapons.

“All our weapons get locked up at night in safes. In safes in a locked room. So, there’s nothing even here,” Abrego said.

Abrego filed a police report with the Houston Police Department and is asking anyone with information on the attempted burglary to call and report it.
