Houston-area educators honored at 2025 H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards

Houston-area educators and a local school board were honored for their leadership and lasting impact on students during this year’s H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards.
Among this year’s winners was Abigail Eliezer, a dedicated educator from Klentzman Intermediate School in Alief ISD, who received the Elementary Lifetime Achievement Award. Eliezer was awarded $25,000 for herself and $25,000 for her campus.
Dr. Alicia Adkins of I.H. Kempner High School in Fort Bend ISD (H-E-B)Lamar Consolidated Independent School District School Board was awarded $25,000 its work in the Rosenberg community. (H-E-B)
The evening was capped off by a keynote address from retired Four-Star Admiral William McRaven, who praised Texas educators for their leadership and role in shaping the future of the state.
