1 dead after boat catches on fire in Texas City

TEXAS CITY, Texas – A fatal boat fire is under investigation in Texas City Tuesday morning, according to city officials.

The fire was reported around 7:30 a.m. at Waterman’s Harbor Marina.

Sky 2 aerial footage showed firefighters battling the flames as thick smoke billowed from the vessel and into the sky.

The boat remained fully engulfed in flames for several hours before the fire was finally extinguished.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and the identity of the deceased has not been released.
