HOUSTON – KPRC 2 has learned the three dogs that attacked and killed a Houston woman on Sunday night were Staffordshire Bull Terriers of pit bulls, according to BARC Houston.
Houston Police Department said the 65-year-old woman identified as Harriet Phillips was found dead at a home in Northeast Houston in the 8000 block of Wayside Village Way.
The dogs had broken through a shared fence in the back yard of the residence, according to police.
Police said the owner of the dogs did not witness the attack but saw his neighbor covered in blood in the back porch and called 911.
According to animal control, the three dogs have been euthanized.
No charges have been filed at this time.
The medical examiner’s officer has ruled Phillips' death as an accident with the primary cause as multiple blunt and sharp force injuries.
