Spring-based Hewlett Packard to lay off 2,500 employees as part of cost-saving measures
KPRC
SPRING, Texas – Technology company Hewlett Packard Enterprise has announced they will be laying off roughly 5 percent of its global workforce over the next 12-18 months.
The company said this equals approximately 2,500 positions.
The layoffs come as part of cost-saving measures the company says it will undertake to strengthen their financial profile by better aligning their cost structure to their business mix and long-term strategy.
The strategy aims to save at least $350 million by fiscal year 2027.
HP relocated its headquarters from California to Spring, Texas in 2020. It employs over 2,000 people in the Houston area.
The company has not specified how many local positions will be affected by the layoffs.
