Man arrested after lengthy standoff at Magnolia area home

Police were involved in an hours-long standoff Friday afternoon with Charles Sinclair, 43, who barricaded himself inside a Magnolia area home.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office says Sinclair, wanted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, assaulted his elderly parents before barricading himself inside the home.

Deputies arrived at the home in the 900 block of Westwood North Drive in Magnolia around 10:09 a.m.

When deputies arrived at the home, they found Sinclair’s 73-year-old mother and 74-year-old father outside the house.

As soon as deputies arrived, Sinclair went inside the home and barricaded himself in.

The sheriff’s office weren’t clear about how the they got Sinclair ended the hours-long standoff, but said “non-lethal” means were used.

Sinclair’s mother was transported to a nearby hospital after she was attacked with a blunt object. First responders looked over the father at the scene, but was not transported from the scene.

Sinclair has been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon Causing Serious Bodily Injury-family violence and Injury to the Elderly
