Oscar Vasquez (Montgomery County Sheriff's Office)
A detention officer in Montgomery County found himself on the other side of custody after he was charged with having improper sexual contact with an incarcerated person.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has arrested detention officer Oscar Vazquez following allegations of improper interactions with an inmate.
Vazquez, who had been with the sheriff’s office for six years, was suspended immediately after the investigation began on Feb. 21, 2025.
Detectives developed probable cause and obtained an arrest warrant for felony improper sexual activity with a person in custody. Vazquez was arrested and resigned while under investigation. He was booked into the Montgomery County Jail.
In a statement announcing the arrest, Montgomery County Sheriff Wesley Doolittle emphasized the importance of accountability.
“I have spent years investigating public integrity cases and holding people accountable for violating the public’s trust and I will hold employees accountable for their actions,” Sheriff Doolittle said. “Criminal behavior will not be tolerated. Individuals in our jail also deserve protection, and any violation of their rights will be met with swift and decisive action.”
