A Houston father is behind bars after allegedly giving his 9-year-old daughter a chocolate bar laced with THC, which landed her in the hospital.

According to court records, deputies from Harris County Constable Precinct 5 were called to Texas Children’s Hospital West Campus after reports of a child showing signs of intoxication. Turns out, the girl had eaten a THC-infused chocolate bar—given to her by none other than her own father, 47-year-old Anong Inthavong.

Inthavong was arrested and charged with felony child endangerment. He’s currently sitting in the Harris County Jail with a bond set at $15,000. His next court date is scheduled for February 17 where a judge will review his bail.

Prosecutors aren’t taking this lightly. In a motion for sufficient bail, they highlighted the seriousness of the case, pointing out that Inthavong knowingly gave his daughter the THC-laced chocolate, putting her health at risk.

And this isn’t his first run-in with the law. Court records show he has prior convictions, including a DWI in 2009 and a trespassing charge in 2008—both of which resulted in guilty pleas and short jail stints.

Authorities are still investigating, so more details could come out as the case moves forward.
