In the latest development in the Klein ISD sex trafficking case, civil rights attorneys representing a new victim, identified as Jane Doe, have announced plans to file a federal civil rights lawsuit.
The case centers on allegations against Kedria Grisby, a cosmetology teacher at Klein Cain High School, accused of compelling prostitution of a minor and child sex trafficking.
Attorneys Bakari Sellers, Harry Daniels, and Jonathan Jackson outlined their legal strategy, including a Title IX suit against Klein ISD and federal civil rights violations against Grisby and her son, Roger Magee.
The attorneys are demanding the Harris County Sheriff’s Department release the names of individuals involved in the alleged sex trafficking ring. They said new information has emerged, highlighting the role of a phone containing evidence of transactions and communications related to the trafficking activities. The attorneys emphasized the importance of this evidence in holding those involved accountable.
The attorneys also revealed that one of the victims was forced to sleep with five to 10 men a night in exchange for money. They allege that Grisby and her son targeted students who were homeless or runaways.
Jane Doe reportedly came to school covered in bruises, and although a teacher noticed, she never received help. There are at least three victims in this case, and their phones, recovered by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, contained text messages regarding payments of prostitution fees. Sellers said that these messages are linked to more than 100 clients, none of whom have been charged yet.

The legal team is calling for community support and urging any additional victims to come forward. They plan to distribute flyers and utilize social media to reach potential victims who may still be suffering in silence.
Sellers mentioned that the victim he represents is doing better now that she is safe and has plans to go to college.
They are filing lawsuits against Klein High School, asserting that the district dropped the ball in protecting students. The legal team is also investigating other institutions they believe should be held accountable.

What happened?
The case first captured public attention and led to widespread outrage in April when Kedria Grisby was arrested. She faces charges of compelling prostitution of a minor and child sex trafficking. Grisby’s son, Roger Magee, was arrested earlier in November 2022.
Concerns had been raised as early as February 2023, when a whistleblower alerted both the school district and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office about Grisby’s alleged activities.
The investigation began on November 8, when the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Human Trafficking Unit responded to a call at a hotel in Spring.
A runaway juvenile reported being trafficked by someone known as “Rico,” later identified as Roger Magee. The victim, found in a hotel room, stated that Magee had left with two other young women in a gray Lexus.
Klein ISD responded to the lawsuit with the following statement:
“Our commitment to safety in Klein ISD is unparalleled, and we stand with any victim of a criminal’s actions. When we become aware of potential wrongdoing, we act immediately and with vigilance. As we’ve stated before, after being alerted by HCSO on April 8, 2024, Grigsby was arrested immediately in her classroom by the Klein ISD Police and fired while in her jail cell. Today, after being made aware of new allegations, Klein ISD Police contacted a Major with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office to confirm whether any Klein ISD employees are under investigation regarding this case. HCSO confirmed they are not working on any active leads in this case. HCSO further advised that if any new information surfaces, they will look into it, but at present, they are considering the case closed.”- Klein ISD spokesperson.
