A man was hospitalized early Tuesday after a minor fender bender at a Houston gas station escalated into a violent altercation and shooting.
Houston police and fire crews responded around midnight to reports of gunfire at the intersection of Synott Road and Ashford Point Drive in west Houston.
Officers arrived to find a man in his late 20s with a gunshot wound. Paramedics transported him to a nearby hospital, where he is expected to recover.
Investigators later determined that the shooting stemmed from a minor collision in the gas station parking lot. According to security footage, after the crash, the occupants of the other vehicle confronted the victim’s group, leading to an argument that quickly turned physical.
Police said the driver of the victim’s vehicle was attacked and chased around the parking lot before attempting to leave.
