Woman shot in the back during multi-vehicle crash in Texas City, gunman at large

TEXAS CITY, Texas – A search is underway for a driver in Texas City accused of shooting someone after a multi-vehicle crash Thursday morning.

Details are scarce as to how everything unfolded, but Texas City PD shared a post online about a crash just before 10 a.m. involving several vehicles on I-45 N. Responding officers at the scene found a passenger, an unidentified woman, was shot in the back.

Texas City police said they believe the shooter was in a black Cadillac sedan, last seen going northbound on I-45 N. The roadway was shut down for about 45 minutes while authorities investigated the scene.
