HPD says they believe the driver of the black Toyota Tacoma drove into the pond around 4:35 a.m. Thursday.

Police say the driver, an 83-year-old man, was traveling southbound on Clear Lake City Blvd when he lost control of the truck. The truck drove onto a raised curb, then onto the median where it struck a tree, continuing southbound and crossing the intersection. It ended up inside the pond.

Authorities say it is possible the man suffered a medical emergency which led to the crash.
