LIVINGSTON, Texas – A special hearing is scheduled to be held on Friday for the accused killer of 11-year-old Audrii Cunningham .
The hearing for Don Steven McDougal will be held at the Polk County Judicial Center Friday morning.
Details about what the hearing is about are limited, but it is related to the case and officials say more information will be provided after the hearing concludes.
McDougal was indicted in April 2024 on two counts of capital murder. He is accused of killing 11-year-old Audrii Cunningham. Her body was found in February in the Trinity River after a five-day long search after she was reported missing.
A medical examiner ruled that Audrii’s primary cause of death was due to “homicidal violence with blunt head trauma.”
