Apartment fire in Spring prompts evacuation, traffic control near I-45

SPRING, Texas – Multiple units have responded to an apartment fire in Spring on Wednesday, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Firefighters received reports of large amounts of smoke coming from the Rayford’s Edge Apartments near I-45 North Freeway.

No injuries have been reported.

Deputies are also assisting with evacuations and traffic control in the area.

Delays are expected as emergency crews block off the scene. Drivers are asked to take an alternate route if possible.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
