19-year-old arrested after killing friend while handling gun in Humble drive-thru

A man has been taken into custody for fatally shooting his friend while handling a gun in a fast-food drive-thru in Humble.
In the early morning hours of Nov. 29, Angel Mendoza, 19, was with his friends inside a truck in the drive through at a restaurant in the 7000 block of N. Sam Houston Pkwy in Humble.
Mendoza began handling a gun in the vehicle, and it discharged, striking his friend in the leg.
The victim, who was later identified as Jose Ledezma, was rushed to a nearby hospital. He was pronounced dead several days later.
Mendoza has been arrested and charged with manslaughter.
