Driver killed in Katy Fwy crash, passenger seen limping away from scene

HOUSTON – Police are looking into what led up to a deadly crash on the Katy Freeway early Monday morning.

Witnesses tell the Houston Police Department ’s Vehicular Crimes Division a little before 1:30 a.m., they saw a driver speeding westbound on the Katy Fwy service road at Morris before hitting a pole.
Based on preliminary evidence, police said the driver was not wearing their seatbelt and died upon impact after he went flying through the windshield.

Witnesses also reported seeing a passenger limping away from the crash site, however, police had no other information on them.
At last check, police were canvassing the area for any surveillance videos as part of their ongoing investigation.
